Layo Bright

Layo Bright is an Nigerian sculptor who explores the themes of identity, legacy, and migration through textiles and mixed media works. She uses the idea of flowers as a narrative to explore the complexity of identity within heritage. One could interpret them as a symbol of adornment but also the intersection of cultures as each flower is so vastly different from the other yet they are all equal. Her artworks are all fairly interactive which provides a window for the audience to view and truly immerse themselves into the art.
